I love the smell of coffee but have never really been a coffee drinker. Tea is more my speed, and there has definitely been no shortage of wonderful (iced) tea choices here in Kuala Lumpur. Each day I get to enjoy a new flavor such as this passionfruit tea with longans…

or chrysanthemum tea with goji berries and lotus seeds…

As promised in the last post, however, today is all about taking the food experience out on the streets of KL. Hawker stalls and centers (imagine open-air or enclosed food courts filled with many choices of inexpensive local fares) can be found throughout cities like Singapore, HK, and KL.

If you do not mind sitting on plastic chairs (or sometimes on a sidewalk)…

and eating huge portions of tasty food, then hawker food can be one of the most colorful and fun dining choices you can make:

Just sometimes where you sit to eat may be right next to a parked car that’s being washed or repaired…

but I call that dining al fresco in KL. It’s always at the top of my list of things to do in Asia.
